Introduction

One Small Step Apps Ltd ("we," "our," or "us") operates the Morse Machine mobile application (the "Service"). This page informs you of our policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of personal data when you use our Service and the choices you have associated with that data.

Information We Collect

Information You Provide

• App Settings: Your learning preferences, training configurations, and customization choices.
• Progress Data: Your learning progress, session scores, and achievement data are stored on your device. If you enable Android backup, they may also be included in your Google account backup.

Technical data and consent

At first launch, and if you skip the consent dialog, Analytics and Crashlytics do not send data. Your learning progress and settings are stored on your device. If you enable Android backup, the system may also include them in your Google account backup, which you manage; we do not receive that backup.

Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics stay off until you enable them separately. If you enable an option, the corresponding service may collect:

• Usage Analytics: screens opened, buttons pressed, feature usage and session statistics.
• Crash reports: stack traces, relevant app state, device information and technical error details.

The app does not collect an advertising identifier. Performance Monitoring is not active.

Notifications

The app can remind you to practise, and tell you when a goal or a streak is at risk. These reminders are created and scheduled on your device: they are not sent from our servers, no push token is registered, and we cannot see whether you open them. If you deny or later revoke the notification permission, everything else keeps working.

Information We Do NOT Collect

• Personal Identification: No names, email addresses, or contact information required.
• Location Data: We do not access or store your location.
• Audio Recording: We do not record or store any audio from your device.
• External Account Data: No social media or external account integration.

How We Use Information

Local Data Storage

• Learning Progress: Your progress, scores, and achievements are stored on your device and may be included in Android backup if you enable it.
• App Settings: Your preferences and configurations are stored on your device and may be included in Android backup if you enable it.
• No sync to our servers: We do not receive your progress or your Android backup.

Analytics (With Consent)

When you consent to analytics, we use the data in aggregate to:

• Improve App Performance: Fix bugs and enhance user experience.
• Feature Development: Understand which features are most valuable.
• Technical Optimization: Improve app stability and loading times.

Data Sharing and Disclosure

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party service with appropriate privacy safeguards:

Firebase Analytics & Crashlytics (Google)

• Purpose: usage analytics and crash reporting.
• Data Collected: app usage patterns, device information, technical metrics.
• Identifiers: Firebase may create and transmit a Firebase installation ID after you enable Analytics or Crashlytics. Crashlytics also uses an installation UUID for crash reports. These identifiers are pseudonymous: we do not link them to a name, email address or account. We do not use an advertising identifier.

• User Control: You can withdraw consent for Analytics and Crashlytics separately in app settings. Crashlytics may apply a change after the next app launch. Local reminders do not register a push token.

Data We Do NOT Share

• Personal progress data with third parties.
• Individual user behavior with advertisers.
• Contact information or personal details.
• Audio or sensitive personal information.

Your Privacy Rights

Consent Management

• Granular Control: Choose which types of data collection to allow.
• Easy Changes: Modify consent settings anytime in the app.
• When changes apply: Analytics changes apply when saved; Crashlytics may apply a change after the next app launch.

Data Access and Control

• Local Storage: Your learning progress and app settings are on your device and may also be in your Google account backup if you enable Android backup. You control that backup; we do not receive it.
• Data Export: Progress data can be viewed within the app.
• Data Deletion: Uninstalling the app removes its data from the device; an Android backup may remain. To request deletion of data already sent to Firebase, see How to delete your data.

Data Security

• Secure Transmission: All network communications use HTTPS/TLS.
• Minimal Data Collection: We only collect necessary analytics data.
• No Sensitive Data: No passwords, financial, or health information.
• No Identification: We link analytics to no identity, because the app has no account and no contact details.

Children's Privacy

Morse Machine is suitable for all ages (4+). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The app requires no account, stores progress on the device and, if Android backup is enabled, may include it in the user's Google account backup. Parents can disable analytics in settings. If you are a parent and believe your child has provided personal information, please contact us to have it removed.

International Data Transfers

• Local Processing: Most data processing occurs on your device.
• Analytics Data: If consented, pseudonymous data may be processed by Google (Firebase) in accordance with their privacy policies.
• Safeguards: All transfers comply with applicable privacy laws.

Data Retention

• Local Data: Retained on the device until you delete the app or reset progress. An Android backup copy may remain until you manage or delete it through your Google account and device settings.
• Analytics Data: Usage data retained according to Firebase retention policies.
• No Personal Data: We do not retain identifiable personal information.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes through an in-app notification and by posting the updated policy here. Changes are effective immediately upon posting.
